The single-needle pressure gauge is primarily used for measuring pressure in locomotive air compressors, hydraulic systems, or air reservoirs. Its operating principle is based on the deformation of a Bourdon tube under the action of the medium's pressure. This deformation is transmitted and amplified through a mechanical linkage, driving the pointer to deflect across the dial scale and thereby indicating the measured pressure value.
